Sliders Season 1 worth buying?

It's been a couple years since I sat in my college dorm and watched
Sliders on Fox (1995?).  I recollect that seasons 2 & 3 sucked
(confirmed by Sci-Fi's 5:00 rerun), but season 1 was quite good.

Is my memory accurate?  Should I buy season 1?
