You should ask yourself the same thing. Did YOU read what you edited out
of most post?

The only thing that would be black with digital are analog stations with
signals so weak, they wouldn't be worth watching anyway. Been there, done
that. And the fact is that even the very stongest analog station won't
look as good as a poor digital station. Why else would you think I would
switch to digital before I had to. Because analog NTSC sucks.

If the analog station is watchable, then you can get the digital station
crystal clear, and in HD if the station sup****ts it.

Actually, they do. The acceptable signal strength is controlled by the
TV. I can adjust it with my PC based system. But not on the TV. This may
differ with some TV's, but I doubt it. Most even do the same for analog
now, but the standards are much lower. My analog scan picked up NTSC
stations I would call unwatchable. They also drop to a black screen (or
blue) BTW with a weak signal, so there's really no difference. And even
if they remain on screen, they are not watchable. I know, I've got 3
analog stations like that here, Fox 4, NBC 5, and Ind. 2. And sometimes
they don't even scan in with the TV. There digital counter parts are
crystal clear and in HD. So you keep your analog TV while I enjoy crystal
clear pictures in HD.
