It seems like you could get a pretty good idea by sitting and watching
a same-size TV in a showroom.

At our place, we have a 50" DLP.  It sits so that the center of the
screen is at the center of our eye level while we sit on the couch.
We've toyed with moving it 8" or so higher, to give it just a little
more of that "slightly above eye level" look.  

Personally, I'd rather look straight forward than upward, so I
certainly wouldn't want the BOTTOM of the TV higher than eye level.  

I guess that eye level (while seated) should probably fall somewhere
between the middle and the bottom of the screen...?
