Seems the TV still displays/detects the video input as 4x3 480i.  A
progressive 
output should be 480p.  Often the player has a setting for progressive; it

even have a switch on the back for it.

What model number Olivia set is it?  The 537H?  If so, I found the manaual

It appears you can adjust each input's properties in the menu.  I guess
for the 
Panasonic, for the component input you're using you would select
interlaced DVD 
on page 32 and then 1:1 or 16x9 aspect as shown on page 38.

All I can suggest is to keep playing with the player and TV video display 
settings until you get it right, if possible.  It could be the TV will
only 
work properly if you set the Panasonic DVD player to 4x3 and the To****ba
DVD 
player to 4x3 progressive.  Did you try the Panasonic in 4x3 mode?
