Now if you want to know what the BDA's definition is, I suggest you ask 
them, not me. Given the information provided by the BDA, I'd consider it 
serious enough that I wouldn't buy one unless it was a profile 2.0 
machine. And I'm pretty sure they aren't expected out til this October. 
None of this alters the fact that the manufacturers (Sony, etc) knew they 
were and still are selling beta machines and hiding this fact from you, 
the consumer. I don't plan on buying any HD player, but given the info, I 
would never buy a Blu-Ray player. And this along with all the other crap 
Sony has pulled in the last few years, I'll never buy another Sony 
product.
