Why not use flash memory instead of new-fangled Blu-Ray? Because...

Somebody here recently state that movies should come out in flash memory.

But...

....it's too expensive:

(New York Times)

In short, it costs about $2.50 / GB to manufacture Flash memory.
Whereas the costs for DVD and BluRay are:

     DVD:	$0.50	/ 4.7 GB disk.
Blu Ray:	$2.00	/ 50 GB disk.
[actually less than this and will fall in cost]

Cheers,
Alan.
