PC TV Out to HDTV

I'm connecting to my TV from my PC through the TV OUT on my Radeon
X300SE video card. I'm cabling in through a video ****t on my older
Motorola DCP501 home theater unit. Is there a preferred way to do this
that will get me better video. The picture looks like I'm watching my
old VHS tapes.
