Amazon.com TV Purchase

I'm interested in a Sony KDL46W3000.  Amazon.com beats any local prices by
a 
over $500.

The draw back I can see from ordering from some place like Amazon is if 
there is an infant mortality problem would be getting the thing replaced.

Does anyone have any words concerning the gamble in buying from some
remote 
location?
