Most lesser commercial HD-TV's will only display 720p (progressive)
and 1080i (interlaced).  However, if what you are looking at is the
46XBR4, the specs say you get true 1080p, "With Sony Bravia XBR
HDTVs, Full HD 1080 means 1920 x 1080 pixels and 1080p video
inputs... exactly what you need to reproduce the 1080p content that
can be delivered by 1080p Blu-ray disc... everything from standard
definition to high definition is upconverted to 1080p."
