not sure what you mean here.."infant mortality' in getting the thing
replaced? But I used Amazon.com for my Samsung DLP and found the service
great. It was promptly delivered to my door in a small van [eagle I think

the carrier was], and two guys, very professional, clean cut, polite,
brought it in and set it up for me. They would not leave until I was
satisfied the tv was working ok.

Have not had any dealings with Amazon.com about service, but I think I'd
have to contact Samsung for that anyway. No problems after 2 months.

My own thinking is that, if one is bying on-line, going with well
established companies like Amazon or Newegg is worth a few more bucks than

going with off the wall 'new york' camera warehouse shops, as it were. I
don't think any 'on-line' company will stay in business long without
'excellent' top of the line customer service because internet transactions

are so so so dependent upon 'trustworthiness'. Newegg has understood this

and now they are probably lightyears ahead of their competition [if they
have any left].

Local is probably best for service [at least you can deal with real people

face to face], but then you pay beaucoup extra bucks.
