Every question asked by Bud is to distort reality. Bud assumes
technical facts from his citations will be ignored by the lurker. His
IEEE citation shows a plug-in protector, what it might do, and then
the damage created because that plug-in protector does not make that
short earthing connection. Page 42 Figure 8. Protector earths a
surge destructively through adjacent appliances due to the necessary,
missing, short connection to earth ground. Every responsible source,
including IEEE and NIST, state that a protector works by earthing
surge energy - harmlessly. Bud claims surge energy will magically
disappear if using his high profit, plug-in protector.

Profits are at risk. What profits? Take a $3 power strip. Add some
$0.10 parts. Sell it for $25 or $150. Why does Monster Cable
manufacturer these surge protectors? Obscenely profits - just like
'magic' speaker wire, or audio connectors colored gold for clearer
sound.

Quotes directly from every Bud citation define what makes an
effective protector AND why plug-in protectors can even contribute to
appliance damage (Page 42 Figure 8). IEEE Standard 141 (the Red Book)
defines protection. Protection is not a surge protector. An
effective 'protector' connects surges to 'protection':
> ... lightning protection is achieve by the process of
> interception of lightning produced surges, diverting
> them to ground, ...

Profits are at risk should one learn technology. Same technology
demonstrated by Ben Franklin in 1752. What stopped surges from
seeking earth ground destructively via church steeples? A lightning
rod connected to earth ground. Ben Franklin also diverted surges to
earth without damage. Lightning strike to AC electric line down the
street either finds earth ground, destructively, through household
appliances, OR is earthed by one 'whole house' protector. Earthed by
a protector just like Ben Franklin earthed surges using a lightning
rod. The effective protector has a short (ie 'less than 10 foot')
connection to earth. Bud must deny the science.

What makes the lightning rod and the surge protector effective?
Magic? That would be Bud's answer. Effective solutions dissipate
energy harmlessly in earth. Effective protectors have that dedicated
connection to earth.

Where does surge energy get dissipated inside his tiny protectors?
Bud says his suppressor will suppress or arrest a surge. Surge energy
will magically disappear. But Bud's NIST citation contradicts Bud:
> What these protective devices do is neither suppress
> nor arrest a surge, but simply divert it to ground,
> where it can do no harm.

Why do Bud's surge protectors not even claim protection? No earth
ground means no effective protection. Bud still will not post a
single manufacturer spec that claims protection. He cannot post what
does not exist. Bud's protectors may be grossly undersized; may fail
during a surge rather than provide protection. The naive will
recommend a failed protector, buy more, and recommend it to friends.
Grossly undersizing a plug-in protector means increases profits and
more sales. Effective protection means earthed surges without anyone
knowing the surge even existed.

Previous post quoted NIST and IEEE from Bud's citations
Professionals demonstrate why Bud is not honest. Another industry
professional who defines effective protection; who contradicts Bud:
  http://www.atlanticscientific.com/lightning.html
 > "Lightning And Surge Protection - Basic Principles"
> Surge protection devices should ideally operate
> instantaneously to divert a surge current to ground
> with no residual common-mode voltage presented
> at the equipment terminals. Once the surge current

> receive the next surge.

What does one effective 'whole house' protector do? 1) Diverts
surge energy harmlessly into earth.  2) Protector remains functional;
"ready to receive the next surge".

No earth ground mean no effective protection. No earth ground can
still sell obscenely profitable plug-in protectors. One 'whole house'
protector means protection inside the TV would not be overwhelmed. No
wonder Bud will never post a single plug-in manufacturer spec. Even
that manufacturer will not claim to provide effective protection.
Instead, they have Bud to promote myths; to protect obscene profits.
Honesty is not Bud.
