OTA & Dish Network Frequencies

by "Jo" <Rosariom@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 1, 2008 at 05:09 AM

Hey everyone

I need to know if the frequencies for OTA and Dish Network overlap, and if

so where. My memory is telling me no but I want to be sure. The reason I

am asking is that my uncle just purchased a brand new 42" Sony lcd hdtv,
don't know the model number. He currently has Dish network as his
provider,
but is not willing to pay more for a new antenna or their hd package. The

satellite box is also located centrally in the basement and through
coaxial
cable feeds the televisions on the first floor; the TV's are using the
coaxial input for reception. Is it possible to setup a diplexer with
satellite and OTA to feed the new Sony? Would there be any interference
issues?

He's in Westchester County, zip code 10805, just under 15 miles from the
transmitter. His living room, where the new TV is, has direct line of
sight
to the Empire State Building broadcast tower. Is this a viable idea?
