Indeed.  Well said, but I'm afraid the snap, crackle and pop will
continue.

For what it's worth, when the seasonal storms come rolling in towards my 
small castle I *unplug* from all AC outlets AND disconnect all 
antenna/cable connections to my computer(s) and TV(s).

As Art Weingartner said in The Burbs movie ... "Electricity is our
friend."
