  Bud posts insults so that you ignore what his own citation state.
Bud is a promoter; do dishonest as to not even admit his reasons for
posting half truths.  Bud insults because even Rush Limbaugh
demonstrated insults become technical facts to many.

  But again posts the myth that 'clamping to nothing' is protection.
Even his own sources state that energy must be 'clamped to earth'
where that energy will be absorbed harmlessly.

  Bud's citations demonstrate why plug-in protectors may even damage
the adjacent appliance because 1) it is too close to the appliance and
2) it is too far from earth ground. 8000 volts was earthed
destructively through an adjacent TV:  Page 42 Figure 8 - a figure
that Bud must ignore.

  Where is that numerical spec that claims a plug-in protector
protects from the typically destructive surges? Not one plug-in
protector will make that claim for a very simple reason.  No plug-in
protector can provide that protection.  It 'clamps to nothing'.
Therefore that surge energy is still seeking earth ground.
Fortunately most 'surges' are too small to overwhelm protection
already inside appliances.   Even dimmer switches and dishwashers
without any protector are not replaced weekly due to surge damage.

  Bud is challenged over 400 times to provide that manufacturer
specification. Bud cannot. No such spec exists when a protector
'clamps to nothing'.  So Bud uses a classic propaganda technique also
used by Rush Limbaugh.  Bud posts insults.  A protector is only as
effective as its earth ground.  Bud cannot dispute that.  So Bud
invents 'clamping to nothing', pretends that surge energy will
magically disappear, ignored bottom line facts in his own citations,
and posts insults.

  Responsible facilities install a 'whole house' protector and upgrade
earthing.  A home owner also inspects his earthing electrode.  Does
his earthing meet or exceed post 1990 National Electrical Code?  If
not, then protectors can only 'clamp to nothing'; effective surge
protection does not exist.  Insults do not change technical reality.
But insults are posted to protect obscene profits - the scam.  A
protector is only as effective as its earth ground, as every source
states including Bud's.  No earth ground (in plug-in protectors) means
ineffective protection.
