  Wall receptacle only has a safety ground - not an earth ground.  Jer
denies this without citing even one professinoal citation or science
reason. One who actually designed protectors also cites sources.
Sources say that wall receptacle is safety ground.  NEC calls it
equipment ground.  Located elsewhere, according to NEC, is earth
ground.  EE Times articles say why that wall receptacle provides no
earth ground.  And then the numbers were provided - resistance verses
impedance for 50' 12 AWG wire.  How many reasons need Jer ignore to
restate a myth - that a wall receptacle is earth ground.

  Jer simply demonstrates a majority who mysteriously know but forgot
to first learn.  No wonder George Bush could so easily lie about
Saddam's WMDs.

  A multi****t protector tripped twice? That means protection
existed?   Impossible.  To make his claim, Jer needed no knowledge and
wild speculation.   If a protector 'tripped', then protector circuit
did not operate. For his power strip to perform protection, thermal
fuse blows (if protector was grossly undersized) AND fail light
declares permanent damage. If protector circuit worked, then nothing
could be reset for the second trip.

   So what tripped?  A circuit breaker.  A completely different device
found even on $3 power strips that have no surge protection.  Using
Jer's logic, a $3 power strip could have performed the exact same
protection as a $25 Tripplite.  Jer has posted without basic
knowledge; recommended a surge protector while claiming it did what it
cannot do and does not even claim to do. This is a second reason why
his lastest post is a myth due to ignorance.   More reasons.

  Surges don't trip circuit breakers.  Jer would know this from
numbers in previous citations - if he would only read them.   Circuit
breakers take milliseconds to trip.  Surges are done in microseconds.
Something like 300 consecutive surges are required to trip a circuit
breaker. Surge did not trip that circuit breaker.  Jer has assumed and
then declared that assumption as fact.

  Why does a circuit breaker trip?  A human safety problem existed.
For some reason, the appliance consumed too much AC utility power for
a massively long time period - tens or hundreds of milliseconds.  That
circuit breaker trip says nothing about surge protection.  That
circuit breaker trip would also occur if the power strip was a $3
power strip without any surge protector parts.

  Four reasons demonstrate that Jer still did not read many previous
citations.  Jer even confuses a circuit breaker for human safety with
surge protectors for transistor safety.

  Let's see.  That circuit breaker took milliseconds to trip.  Surge
completed in microseconds.  A circuit breaker protected electronics
milliseconds after the surge has ended?  Clearly that surge protector
performed time travel.  It tripped.  Then it went back 1 second in
time to protect from a surge.  Jer claims his protector provided
protection by using time travel.

  Jer, this is getting rediculous.  You have no idea what protection
is.  You even confuse a wall receptacle safety ground with earth
ground.  Now you are making claims that can only exist using time
travel.  A protector is only as effective as its earth ground.  Plug-
in protectors have no earth ground. No earth ground means no effective
protection.
