    If fl_fly_boy had first read (and learned), then all incoming
utilities connect to the single point earth ground.   Difficult to
understand is why fl_fly_boy now confuses burglars with surges.  But
he also did this in 2007; invents problems just to argue.

  Returning to fl_fly_boy's myth: a surge protector works by stopping
(absorbing) surges?  If true, then a 100 joule MOV only absorbs a
trivial 100 joules. Pathetic protection.    Demonstrated: a 100 joule
MOV absorbs 100 joules when it shunts (connects, clamps, diverts,
conducts) maybe 5000 joules harmlessly into earth.   Even less enegy
is absorbed when the protector is 1000 joules.  Increase protector
joules to dissipate even less energy inside a protector.  Why?  Better
protectors absorb even less energy AND dissipate more energy into
earth.  A protector is only as effective as its earth ground.  An
effective protector does not absorb surges.

  fl_fly_boy demonstrates those who know but forgot to first learn
facts.  A protector with greater joules works even better because it
absorbs less joules - dissipates even more energy into earth.  Earth
ground is the protection - where surge energy must be dissipated..

  fl_fly_boy could learn these facts.  Or he could post fears about
burglars.  Fear of burglars is the same poster that claims a protector
somehow absorbs what three mile of sky could not stop.

  Posted in contradiction are the numbers.  Protectors work by
shunting (diverting) surges into earth.  The naive reply with insults.
When a plug-in protector manufacturer does not even claim protection,
then insults become technical proof?  fl_fly_boy routinely posts
insults and not one technical fact.  fl_fly_boy - where is that pug-in
manufacturer spec that claim protectors work by absorbing surges?   No
such specification exists.

  A protector is only as effective as its earth ground.  Responsible
manufactures such as Cutler-Hammer, Keison, Intermatic, Leviton, GE,
Siemens, and Square D manufacturer effective 'whole house' protectors
with that essential earthing wire connection.  These devices even
provide HDTV protection.
