I was living in  San Francisco in 1968  (the heart of psychedelia and in a 
gathering of chemically inclined acquaintances the question of what 
particular concoction would be the ultimate for viewing the film.  A few 
ideas were tossed around, but one who had seen the movie actually said:
"Nooo, Man...see it STRAIGHT!"
I did--he was right!
