I record about 200 shows during a 2 week period. Smallville is one. Dr. 
Who isn't. Other than news type shows, here's a brief list of some of my 
favorites.

Survivor
Big Brother
All the Law and Order shows.
House
Bones
Cold Case
Without a Trace
All the CSI shows.
Medium
NCIS
Hell's Kitchen
Shark
American Idol
Criminal Minds
Boston Legal
Supernatural
Ghost Whisperer
Numb3rs
Moonlight
Lots of prime time game shows with Duel being the best IMO.

And that's just a partial list of the 200+ shows I've got scheduled to 
record during the next 13 days. I get about 40 channels here OTA. I only 
watch 10 of them. That's 240 hours of programming a day from which to pick

from. If you can't find at least 6 hours of shows you enjoy out of
that....
And most are in HD. Cable/sat? No thanks, don't need it.
