A few yeas ago I had a similar problem crop up with an old CRT analog
set, and the repair person said the degaussing coil or the driver
circuit had gone fi****ng permanently. As it turned out, the circuit
board for it was a simple fix. Afterward, I gave the set to my sis and
she still uses it now three years later. Had it been the coil itself it
would've been a different kettle.
