Folks,
Has anyone here had experience with the Comcast Motorola DCT6200-1000
digital cable box using the firewire ports? I am thinking of getting
Comcast digital cable so I can record to my Mitsubishi Digital VHS
recorder. I tried to get an answer from Comcast via on-line web inquiry
and they replied by asking me to call long distance to Atlanta. God
knows what that would have cost me depending on how long I was on hold.
I live in Jacksonville, FL and here is part of what I asked them (I
have removed personal info):

I checked with a neighbor here where I live who has digital
cable and they have a Comcast Motorola cable box model DCT6200-1000.
This box has two firewire ports on the back. Are these ports active and
enabled? I have a Mitsubishi Digital VHS recorder that mates with my
Toshiba HI Def TV via firewire ports. I can currently only
record/playback HI def via ATSC over-the-air tuner. If the firewire
ports are enabled on the DCT6200-1000, I would be able to record all HI
Def content off Comcast Digital Cable. I very much desire to do this
but don''t want to order Comcast cable if the Firewire ports on the
DCT6200-1000 are not enabled. Are they enabled and available for
recording and playback?

Anybody in Jacksonville, FL that can answer my question?
Thanks,
