We had a couple of situations in the late '40's where we had to devise
a mountless mount. Take two 4X4 3/4 inch pieces of plywood and make a
"V". Drop this over the peak of the roof and fasten a standard TV
mount to the plywood which we held in place with a couple 50 pound
bags of sand. Obviously not in paper bags. Flat roof is easier. Single
4X4 laying on the roof. Naturally the shorter the mast the more stable
the mount. Just remember that you are responsible for what ever
happens if a block or a bag of sand falls off that roof.
