Recovering from the HDTV chock the road forward lies open!;-)IM****TANT.;-)

by "Jens \"Lyrik\" Bech" <lyrik@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 7, 2008 at 01:53 PM

Restructuring the High Def machinery I got myself a Playstation 3-PS3.(they

have WiFi and it works)

Well this has been a very good experience. Not only will it play Blu-Ray,
but it will upconvert DVD's excellent and it is DivX;-) certified.(plays
H.264 as well.)

So if You have an external hard drive formatted in FAT32, you can stick it

in the USB(there are 2) of the PS3.
There it will play High definition files, and I have tested it with 25
Mbts.
It works. Very well indead.;-)

So if You have a laptop with a Blu-Ray drive or an external one, then You
are able to "Back-up" Your Blu-Ray movies to DivX;-) and it is a piece of
old american apple pie!;-)
We should'nt risc that the Blu-Ray get infected with something, it's thin
layer taken in condition, so we just have to back them up-don't we?

Here is how:
You have to buy:
 "AnyDVD"(there is a test version)
"Prism Video Converter"......(the unregistrered will convert to high def
wmv
which the PS3 also plays.)

Blu-Ray in drive rightclick in systray on "Anydvd" and choose:"Rip Video
DVD
to harddisc"-and it will remove region codes!

The result will be some folders nearly all empty exept a folder called:
BDMV/STREAM. In STREAM lies maybe 30 .m2ts videofiles. One of them is real

big about 30 Gigabyte. That's it!
You open that file in "Prism Video Converter" a real "Aussie piece of
work"-to open you will have to let it choose from "all files"
Then you choose from the Divx templates ore any other You prefer. DivX has

an advantage though-running smothely, not overcompressed, -and most
im****tant-You can use the famous freeware program "VirtualDub" to cut it
in
two-should your resulting video file be over the 4 Gigabyte limit for FAT
32
file system.

It is so-Easy!
When I get my LG Bly-Ray writer with HDVD player i can back-up all my
HDDVD's to Blu-Ray or DivX;-)

Greets
Lyrik
