It may be worth noting that my Feb acquisition of a new Sony BD-S500
player was a welcome addition to the system here. Additional note, I've
also acquired a few BD discs that require a 1.1 player to fully
appreciate some of the included features. Even more, I downloaded a
firmware update from Sony.com, applied the update, and now fully enjoy
the 1.1 features on all the BD discs that it previously wouldn't.
Finally, I assume this player will never be fully 2.0 compliant due to
the apparent lack of any connection for networking to the internet, but
I don't plan on losing any sleep over it.
