| Visio has some new models out as well
|
| They now have a small 22" unit that I'm eyeing....
| Costco has it
Beware that 22" unit is a 16:10 aspect ratio rather than 16:9. It's
native
geometry is 1680x1050. If 16:9 content is being displayed, it will either
be letter boxed for the correct aspect, or cropped at the sides for
correct
aspect, or something between letter boxing and cropped, or it will distort
the aspect ratio and fill the screen (as my Philips brand TV does and has
no
option to change).
It MAY be they elect to crop 1920x1080 all around down to 1680x1050, since
TVs often do trim the edges (classical analog SD usually does). Having
the
picture displayed with 1:1 pixel conversion would certainly keep it sharp.
If you do get it, after surveying all the menu options regarding any
possible
ways for it to display 16:9 content, I'd like to know what it can do.
