Sony KDF-42we655 ATSC Tuner sucks

Just installed my Zenith Converter from Radio Shack and was amazed at the 
improvement over the tuner in my Sony 42" RPTV.  This TV was manufactured
in 
2004 and the tuner is so bad at handling Multipath that for all practical 
purposes, all I have is a monitor.  I suppose if I was line of site,  it 
would have had a better chance at working.  I am Northeast of Seattle 
approximately 22 miles on the average from the broadcast towers and
shooting 
through many close trees.  The Sony locked on about 8 stations but
received 
them so intermittantly that we had switched almost entirely to analog. 
The 
Zenith tuner locked onto 33 (including subchannels) and I haven't seen any

dropout from any of them in 4 days.  The new generation chips are
incredibly 
better!.....
