So they have to replace all their old STBs for the non-basic customers.

Is there a profit for Comcast in there somewhere?  Comcast generally does
NOT
respond to complaints or "pressure" from just a very few custoemrs.  And I
do
not see any kind of groundswell of customers insisting that the OTA
stations
be carried in 8VSB instead of QAM.

Now what about the cable read TVs and private STBs that expect only QAM in
on the RF ****t labeled "cable" and only 8VSB on the RF ****t labeled
"antenna"?
