The trans****t streams are the same.  They could use QAM256 instead of
8VSB,
carry the entire set of channels from each OTA station, and add more
channels
onto it.  If the exact numbers for QAM256 are at least fully double that
of
8VSB, they could put _two_ OTA trans****t streams together in one.  The IDs
would already be different.

I see no reason to use 8VSB over QAM256 on a cable service _other_ that to
someone get some benefit for people ONLY getting those up to 12 8VSB
signals
who can use a CECB to do it.

But I certainly don't believe there has been any "public pressure" to do
this.
