Couldn't say. I don't have an IR blaster for my old vcr. If ones vcr does 
have an ir blaster, then it will work fine with the RCA converter box for 
base .1 channels. With no subchannels given the converter box will select 
the .1 subchannel. So if you have an old Tivo or some other recorder with 
a blaster and you can use it to control channel change on the converter 
box the main station. I would think all the converter boxes will do this. 
I know for a fact that th4e RCA channel change responds to the same codes 
as does the base RCA cable box.
