| the HD worth the $ 200 over the SD?". What do you think?
What matters is what YOU think. You should have a good long look at HD to
see if it really matters to you. My brother loves HD and would never go
back. My father has seen it but has no interest in getting HD. Digital
will be better than analog even in SD. So maybe that will be enough for
you. A built-in tuner will realize more of that digital improvement than
a digital to analog converter box that is eligible for coupon usage, since
the built-in would never be letting the video touch NTSC.
What you watch may be an influencing factor, too.
If you do decide to get HD, I would suggest reconsidering the antenna.
Cable
and satellite feeds tend to overcompress the signals of local stations to
squeeze them in tighter, to leave more capacity for revenue generating
stuff.
OTOH, some broadcasters are trying to squeeze in more subchannels and
doing
the same overcompression. As close as you are to Cleveland, it should be
quite easy for you to get OTA TV via even a small antenna.
Get a TV with two RF inputs, one for the antenna, and one for the cable.
Be
sure you also have at least 2 HDMI inputs (one for a disc player) as you
may
in the future decide to go with satellite service.
