| They aren't already? I've never looked because I never felt I needed to

I really don't know. I don't get them. I was looking at the list of
formats
by TV stations for OTA, and everything is 1080i30, 720p60, or 480i30. But
that just says there are no "movie channels" OTA.
If you tune receiver to a channel with a 1080p24 format (or 720p24 or
480p24)
and use the analog component output, and configure the receiver to output
the
format unchanged (I don't know if any are smart enough to do this), then
you
should be able to detect the p24 output some way. A display smart enough
to
show the format information can tell you. Otherwise if you have a scope
you
can tap in on the video wires to see.
Now how many video displays will take p24 on analog component or even
HDMI?
Apparently many will not.

| Those first two for sure, but I'm not certain what you mean by that last
| one. Seems like the second and third would be the same together.
Right now, DishNet has different pricing for different sets of SD
programming.
There are 3 or 4 different tiers you can choose from. Are there tiers on
the
HD programming? That's something else their web site was totally unclear
about.

| Oh, that reminds me... I think I recall posting I had a 622. If I did,
| I was confused - it's a 722 here. And the OTA section works well for
| what I can receive. In fact, I believe it's ATSC receiver is better
| that the TV's. OTA is pretty sketchy here, but the 722 box makes OTA a

| the sat, I normally just stick with those, leaving the bunny ears in
| place just because I can.
I'd like to know if the picture quality of the locals HD programming is as
good via satellite as is via terrestrial (aside from your antenna issue).
I worry that both satellite and cable will try to over compress these.
OTOH, neither DishNet nor DirecTV will provide my locals via the
satellite.
So OTA is the only option for me.
