It seems to be you are describing something different than I did.

What I described:

Order the CECB in advance, paying at the time of placing the order, and
redeeming coupon at the time of paying.  Later the CECB comes in and you
get it (perhaps ****pped to you).

What you described:

You want to rder the CECB in advance, do not pay at the time of order. 
The
box comes in later and one is reserved for you.  You proceed later to pay
for it and redeem the coupon.  But they want you to pay at the time of
order.
You don't explain whether they are refusing to redeem the coupon when
paying.
