I know this is an old topic, but I have just got to go on record as
saying I totally stopped watching this show, (reruns included) when
Doug did his "Prison of Love" room.
The TS actually made me angry to watch because the designers were so
insensitive to the owners needs, and IMO purposely did drastically
horrible things to the rooms.
The show stopped being an idea generator, and instead started to
focus on shocking the audience. I know Hildi reasoned that she was
"pu****ng the envelope" but she wasn't. All Hildi did was add to the
local landfill, when the homeowners were done gutting her work.
Tell me if I am right, but I know there are at least 3 homeowners ON
RECORD, as saying the gutted Hildi's work after the taping, (the straw
on walls lesbians, the wine labels on walls preacher, and the flowers
on wall bathroom).
It got to the point where all I could think, when watching the show,
was how much work, effort, and time was going to have to go into
"fixing" what the designer did to the room.
I will exclude Vern and Lori from the above. Frank was OKAY, but not
my taste.
What a shame, because I used to enjoy the show immensely.
